State's top court to decide validity of repressed memories in sex abuse case
A man claims he was abused by a priest decades ago, but he's filing the lawsuit outside the statute of limitations. His attorney argues that he had repressed the memories of the abuse, so he wouldn't have been able to bring the case at the time. The state's supreme court is trying to determine whether repressed memories are scientifically valid. If so, the case could open up the church to more sex abuse claims.
