Chad Greenway hasn't announced if he plans to return for another NFL season or not, but the linebacker is going to play a major role in Super Bowl LII, which will be held at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis next year.

Greenway was named the "Crew 52" Captain for Super Bowl LII by the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee.

He will serve as a volunteer ambassador for Minnesota during the countdown to the Super Bowl. He will be asked to help generate excitement and support the host committee's efforts to train 10,000 volunteers to help create a safe and successful Super Bowl.

"Hosting the Super Bowl is a great chance to show the world what we love about Minnesota – our great football fans, an incredible stadium and our 'Bold North' hospitality," said Greenway. "If you are as excited as I am for Minnesota to host the big game, then I hope you will join me and sign up to be on Team Crew 52!"

The big question on everyone's mind though is will Greenway be back with the Vikings?

Greenway signed a one-year contract with the Vikings prior to last season and was still effective at age 34. Greenway played in all 16 games and made nine starts for the Vikings, making 45 tackles with an interception.

In his 11 seasons with the Vikings Greenway has made more than 1,100 career tackles. The Mount Vernon, South Dakota, native was the team's first-round draft pick in 2006.

He has spent his entire NFL career in Minnesota.
