Continuing to prove he's the Greatest American Hero, hip-hop darling Chance the Rapper made headlines yesterday with the announcement that he'll be donating $1 million to Chicago Public Schools. Following a tense meeting with Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner over the weekend in which the two reportedly discussed Rauner's vetoing of legislation that would have put $215 million into the state's public school system, Chance decided to take matters into his own hands.

Through a press conference that he Periscoped yesterday, Chance announced that he'll be donating $1 million of his own money to Chicago Public Schools, a gesture earning him universal praise. The loudest voice has been from former First Lady Michelle Obama.

But it doesn't stop there as comedian Hannibal Buress has reportedly made a donation as well, although he announced it in the most irreverent of ways.

Quite a few others in hip-hop and the entertainment world as a whole have praised Chance as well.
