A friend said he had made several offers to buy Timothy Bakdash's 2004 Galant, but it wasn't until soon after a deadly hit-and-run in Dinkytown that Bakdash suddenly seemed eager to unload the vehicle. The Pioneer Press reports Bakdash later told his friend he had to come clean and that he "had hit some people with the vehicle."

Driver charged in fatal downtown hit-and-run

Charges have been filed in the deadly hit and run crash that killed an Augsburg College student early Saturday morning. According to a complaint, 27-year-old Teisha Randle of St. Paul was the driver of car traveling 90 miles an hour in downtown Minneapolis before allegedly hitting 20-year-old Austin R. Conley in a crosswalk near the corner of 3rd Street and 1st Avenue.

Son charged for the alleged murders of mother, nephew

Twenty-two-year-old Ishmael Wilson Roberts was charged Wednesday afternoon for fatally stabbing his mother, 57-year-old Beatrice Wilson, and 14-year-old nephew in north Minneapolis. The estranged son was charged with two counts of intentional second-degree murder. According to the complaint, Roberts has not been to the home in Minneapolis for about two years.

St. Paul man charged in mother's death

The son of a woman found dead this week in a St. Paul house was charged Friday with strangling his mother and setting the duplex where she lived on fire. Michael Ray Caldwell, 20, of St. Paul, was charged with second-degree murder Lorine Mary Johnson, 49, after he confessed to the murder while undergoing a psychological evaluation at United Hospital.
