Still reeling from the closure of beloved Minneapolis institution Nye's Polonaise? Fear not, it's been immortalized using Lego.

It's the latest Lego creation of Jeff Esler, who earlier this year completed his tribute to the famous bar, karaoke lounge and restaurant on East Hennepin Ave.

The bar closed down last year and the site is being turned into apartments.

Esler's wife Teresa posted pictures of his model on Facebook, and it's since been shared more than 1,000 times.

As well as recapturing the magic of the bar's distinctive exterior, inside his Lego masterpiece are the "World's Most Dangerous Polka Band" and bartender Corky Hisle.

He told the Star Tribune he had to make many trips to the Lego Store at the Mall of America and buy many pieces from eBay to pull off the affect, and said he's since had a couple of offers from people wanting to buy it from him.

Nye's was particularly significant to Esler because it's where he first met his wife, the newspaper adds.

"I didn't think it would turn out as nice as it did to be honest. I wasn't sure what it would look like. It's not easy to get things perfect," Esler told FOX 9, adding that it used 1,000 pieces and cost around $300 to complete.

He said he's considering moving onto some other Twin Cities landmarks next, with the old Grain Belt Brewery and his favorite south Minneapolis bar, Northbound Brewery, in his sights.
