A 13-year-old was arrested at a Chicago bus stop in connection with a shooting in St. Cloud this week.

St. Cloud police said a 15-year-old was shot in the leg just a block away from St. Cloud State University's campus late Tuesday. His injury wasn't life-threatening, and police said the shooting wasn't random.

They got "limited cooperation" surrounding the circumstances though, and didn't have a suspect.

But on Thursday that changed.

The St. Cloud Police Department said in a news release a 13-year-old boy was arrested by Chicago police at a bus stop in that city. On him, he had a gun police believe was used in the St. Cloud shooting, according to the release.

He'd been visiting St. Cloud over the summer, police said.

The teen is at the Chicago Juvenile Detention Center, and will be extradited to Minnesota to face second-degree assault charges.

Police are still investigating.
