The license of a child care provider whose center in downtown Minneapolis was raided by FBI and state officials Wednesday is to be revoked.

KSTP reports that the Minnesota Department of Human Services has written to the operator of the Salama Child Care Center at 1411 Nicollet Ave. informing them that the center was not complying with "numerous" license stipulations.

Chief among them, the news station notes, is that the operator had their child care license revoked in 2014.

Other violations found by DHS officials include the center exceeding its capacity of 60 children, not maintaining the correct staff to child ratio, having unclean indoor spaces, and leaving hazardous objects accessible to children.

It's not been confirmed that the FBI/DHS search on Wednesday was related to the license being revoked.

FOX 9 reports that the operator of the Minneapolis center is the same one who ran the Salama Child Care Center in St. Cloud, which had its license revoked last year for "serious and chronic violations."

Under state law, a daycare provider who loses their license can not get it back for at least five years. The Minneapolis center has until Friday, May 29, to appeal the DHS decision.

A list of the violations the DHS says were committed at the child care center can be found here.
