A northeast Minnesota man won the John Beargrease Sled Dog Race Wednesday morning, the Duluth News Tribune reports.

Nathan Schroeder of Chisholm won the 29th running of the race, which began Sunday. He also won the race in 2010, Northland's News Center reported.

This year's race, which had been postponed in January due to a lack of snow, included a former runway model, a young man with cerebral palsy and a musher from Tennesse, MPR noted in a slideshow of the race start.

Wisconsin native and former model Zoya DeNure was among those who had withdrawn from the competition by Tuesday night, the News Tribune previously reported.
