City explains fishy reason why no votes were cast in Mpls. Ward

City officials have finally explained why the vote total on Election Day was zero for Minneapolis Ward 10, Precinct 3B, the Star Tribune reported.

As it turns out, it's located in the east half of Lake Calhoun.

City Clerk Casey Carl explained in an email that during the redistricting process, Ward 10, Precinct 3B, was "the unintentional result of a programming error made in drawing new ward boundary line."

And, as it turns out, the map wasn't cleaned up before the election.

For the record, no residents registered to vote in the ward.

Word of the error has gone national, with the likes of and picking up on the Election Day blunder.
