A Minnesota man was reunited with his stolen ice house thanks to a little help from social media.

Mike Lutgen of Cold Spring found his ice house missing from Grand Lake on Wednesday morning and decided to turn to the Internet to track it down.

Lutgen's cousin Curt posted pictures of the missing ice house on his remodeling company's Facebook page. The post was viewed and shared by more than 165,000 people, WCCO reports.

The very next day, a friend caught a glimpse of the ice house parked on Pleasant Lake about six miles away.

“I was test driving a car, and I drove by and I saw it,” Mike Zwilling tells WCCO. “The giveaway is because it wasn’t cranked down, and I was almost positive it was his house.”

Lutgen tells the St. Cloud Times he and his son like to fish almost every night catching crappies. He was fishing until 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night and then went to his home, which sits on a nearby hill and overlooks the lake. At 7 a.m. the next day, his son looked out the window and saw the ice house missing.

Lutgen says he's confused why someone targeted his house when it was surrounded by other high-end homes on the lake.

"It just isn't right," he tells the St. Cloud Times.

The Stearns County sheriff is investigating the theft.
