Cold weather brings forward delayed opening of Eden Prairie ice castles

There's a positive outcome to the plummeting temperatures in Minnesota – the Ice Castles of Eden Prairie will open next weekend.

The opening of the attraction was delayed having originally been slated for the start of January, following unseasonably warm winter weather.

Organizers had put back the opening date to February 1, but the recent cold snap has made it sufficiently frosty to open up next Saturday, January 23, at Miller Park.

Tickets are on sale and can be booked here.

It will open from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 3 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday, noon-10 p.m. Saturday, and noon-8 p.m. Sunday.$8.95 and $12.95 respectively on weekends.

Founder and designer Brent Christensen previously told BringMeTheNews his goal is to create a winter “fantasy land.” He says people can expect colorful lights, icy slides, running fountains and more.
