Another major concert has been announced at U.S. Bank Stadium, with Coldplay making a stop in Minneapolis next summer.
The British band announced early Friday morning a raft of American dates for its Head Full of Dreams tour, with the new Vikings stadium playing host on Saturday, Aug. 12.
The group has been a worldwide success since bursting onto the British alternative scene in 2000 with debut album "Parachutes."
Following albums including "A Rush of Blood to the Head" and "Viva La Vida" turned the quartet – led by songwriter and frontman Chris Martin – into the stadium sellers they are today.
Tickets for the show go on sale via Ticketmaster on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m.
They become the first musical act to be confirmed for the stadium during the Minnesota Vikings' upcoming offseason, judging by its website, though it will be hosting the X Games in mid-July.
The band's Head Full of Dreams tour has become as much a visual spectacle as an audio one. Check out some footage from their show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany earlier this year (check out "Charlie Brown" at 53:50 to see what we mean).
