Community rallies to help family devastated by tragic fire

A single mother and her two children are dead after a tragic house fire in Watertown early Saturday morning.

Tia Nustad, 32, made it out of the burning home with injuries, but died later at Hennepin County Medical Center, reported WCCO.

Her two children – Tyler, 11, and Layla, 3 – died inside the burning house.

"She's up there with them right now. They need their mom and now they have her," Nustad's uncle, Barry Nustad, told KARE11.

A GoFundMe campaign raised over $5,000 by Sunday afternoon to help the Nustad family with expenses. Nearly 90 people donated to the trending campaign over the weekend.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Tia's twin sister, Tawny, has been posting about the tragic loss on Facebook.
