Competitive cuteness: Twin Cities zoos try to outdo each other with cute photos

Author:

It was a simple premise for the friendliest of competitions between zoos: let's post photos of our animals to social media and see whose are cuter.

What came next? Awwww

Over and over.

Como Park Zoo in St. Paul and the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley engaged in a cute-off Friday. Here are some highlights:

The Minnesota Zoo is making repairs to its brown bear enclosure after one of its inhabitants shattered the glass with a rock this summer.

While the bears are off exhibit for awhile the zoo will let visitors roam through their home this weekend, allowing an up-close look at their den, sandpit, meadow, and stream.

And both zoos are preparing for Halloween. At Como Zoo that means the annual Zoo Boo event.
