SPCO cancels concerts for 2012

Stuck in a labor dispute, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra has canceled its concerts through the end of the year. The SPCO locked out its musicians on Oct. 21, and the musicians on Wednesday rejected management's latest offer. Musicians have said they are working on a new proposal.

Opus to construct new headquarters for Xcel Energy

The proposed nine-story, 212,000-square-foot office building will be on the corner of Fourth Street and Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis, across the street from Xcel's current headquarters. The Taxpayers League of Minnesota is suing to stop construction of the new St. Paul Saints stadium in Lowertown. In its suit filed Friday in Ramsey County District Court, the taxpayer league claims the city of St. Paul violated competitive bidding laws when it awarded the design-build contract for the new stadium to Ryan Cos.
