For beer lovers, seasonal and specialty brews are one of the best parts of winter. And a local brewery says they have the perfect beer for cold Minnesota weather.

It's a beer that has been popular in previous years, and has a pretty cool name, too: Cool Beans.

Third Street Brewhouse announced the specialty beer's release in a news release Wednesday.

The St. Cloud-area brewery partnered up with Muggsy’s Beans, a local roaster in St. Cloud, to create their Cool Beans Imperial Coffee Porter – a rich, dark brown beer that tastes like coffee and chocolate, and has an ABV of 9.1 percent, the description on Third Street's website says.

"This is really the perfect beer for the cold, Minnesota winter we’ve been having,” Karl Schmitz, head brewer at Third Street said in the release. “We’ve blended bold coffee with rich chocolate for a smooth, drinkable dark beer.”

Cool Beans debuted in January 2015, the St. Cloud Times reported, but the beer has been revamped with a new can and packaging design, the brewery said. It will be available in stores for a limited time beginning in January.

If you're not familiar with Third Street Brewhouse, they opened in 2012 and are located in Cold Spring.
