The restaurant's new building has been open less than a week, and construction continues as part of a massive overhaul. A new pastry shop was made in Italy, taken apart, shipped to the U.S. and reassembled by Italian craftsmen, WCCO reports.

City orders 6 families to vacate condemned St. Paul housing complex

The St. Paul City Council has ordered six families still living in a pair of condemned apartment buildings in the city's Payne-Phalen neighborhood to move out by Monday. The 33-unit Westminster Court apartment complex had hundreds of code violations and was foreclosed on, and the new owners need to vacate the buildings in an effort to bring them up to code.

St. Paul priest charged with molesting 2 boys

A St. Paul priest was charged this week with sexually abusing two boys in his camper trailer on the church's parking lot in 2010. Curtis Wehmeyer, 47, of Oakdale, was arrested in June after one of the boys told his mother. The boys were 12 and 14 at the time of the alleged abuse, according to a new criminal complaint.

2 arrested in St. Paul teen's overdose death

Two men have been jailed in the death of a 14-year-old St. Paul girl after they allegedly took her to a party and supplied her with alcohol and a new drink called "lean," a mixture of codeine and Sprite, the Pioneer Press reports. It's also known as "Sizzurp" or "Purple Drank," and reportedly originated in Houston.

City of St. Paul impounds 20-foot cow

The Pioneer Press reports city police found an enormous fiberglass cow bolted to a trailer and abandoned in the street, so they hauled it into the impound lot. The owner, whoever that may be, has a right to reclaim it, but the trailer isn't registered. If no one claims the cow, the city will auction it.
