Kira Trevino's family plans to attend Friday court hearing for her husband

The family of missing St. Paul resident Kira Trevino plans to attend a scheduled court hearing for her husband Jeffery Trevino on Friday, WCCO reported.

Jeffery Trevino, 39, has been charged with second-degree murder in the case. He is currently held on $1 million bond. A plea could be entered at Friday's planned hearing, CBS News reported.

Kira Trevino has been missing since Feb. 21, and searches for her body have been ongoing.

Mike Teige, of Elderon, Wis., Kira's Trevino's cousin, who has made numerous trips to search for his relative at Keller Lake in Maplewood, tells the Star Tribune he is determined to find her in a search Friday. He is asking the public for donations of equipment, including augers, underwater cameras and GPS systems, he told the Star Tribune.

“If I have to tear that lake apart...that’s what I’ll do,” Teige tells the newspaper.

Volunteers are organizing another search at the Minnesota River Valley National Wildlife Refuge for 1 to 4 p.m Saturday, according to a search Facebook page.

More than 50 people gathered for a vigil Thursday night for Trevino, the Pioneer Press reported.
