Ben Zobrist lost his helmet when he jumped and pumped his fist after hitting what turned out to be arguably the biggest double in MLB history – a double that scored the go-ahead run in the 10th inning to help the Chicago Cubs win its first World Series in 108 years.

The Cubs were leading 5-1 in Game 7 of the World Series before the Cleveland Indians started a rally to remember. The Tribe scored two runs in the fifth thanks to a walk on a pitch that looked liked an inning-ending strike three, and another run on a wild pitch by Cubs lefty Jon Lester.

Chicago made it a 6-3 game in the sixth thanks to a solo homer to center by 39-year-old catcher David Ross, who moments earlier had Lester's wild pitch bounce off the dirt and smack him in the middle of his catcher's mask.

But Cleveland wasn't dead. The Indians got a two-out RBI double from Brandon Guyer to cut the Chicago lead to two, and tied it on Rajai Davis' two-out, two-run homer off of All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman.

The ninth went scoreless and then rain started to fall on Progressive Field to the point where the umpires called the tarps onto the field for a 17-minute rain delay.

Chicago regrouped, then unloaded on Cleveland bullpen ace Bryan Shaw, with lefties Zobrist and Miguel Montero driving in runs with hits to the opposite field.

Davis came up after a Guyer walk in the 10th and delivered a two-out RBI single to center to make it an 8-7 game, but Michael Martinez weakly grounded out to third and Kris Bryant fired a strike to Anthony Rizzo at first base to win the World Series.
