A father-of-two was killed in what police say was a hit-and-run in Alexandria, Minnesota on Monday night.
Travis Pennig, 26, was found at the side of the road on 34th Avenue between 10:15-10:45 p.m. with "significant injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle," Alexandria PD said.
He was taken to the hospital but didn't survive his injuries.
Police are now seeking the public's help identifying the vehicle, with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisting the investigation.
Anyone with information regarding suspicious or unexplained damage to a vehicle, likely at the front, should call 320-763-6631.
A fundraiser started on Facebook by Heather Wulfekuhle reveals Pennig is survived by two children, Hayzel, 2, and Oriin, 4, and partner Corrie Jennings.
"Travis was a good man, a wonderful dad who loved his kids more than life itself, he loved Corrie more than others realized," she writes.
"He helped others even though he would get nothing in return. He had such a positive spirit."
The fundraiser will raise money to help the family cope with costs moving forward.
Shortly after announcing his death, Jennings, the mother of his children, posted on Facebook: "I will miss you forever my one true love."
