Longtime Dairy Queen set to close in St. Cloud

The corner of 25th Avenue and Division Street in St. Cloud has been home to a seasonal Dairy Queen for more than six decades, but that will come to an end on Sunday, Sept. 2. "Hopefully, we can send everyone away happy one last time," said owner Bob Lahr. The tiny vintage cement building is being demolished to make room for a new CVS Pharmacy. A new Dairy Queen location just south of the existing building is set to open in February.

Vintage St. Cloud Dairy Queen to close doors after 63 years

A vintage Dairy Queen building in St. Cloud is preparing to dish out its last soft-serve cone Sunday. KARE-TV reports the land where the building sits on Division Street has been purchased by another company, so the business is relocating. The Dairy Queen building opened in 1949, and still has its original refrigerator and stainless steel counter-tops.

Target plans to open its first store in Maui

The proposed store would be the fifth location the Minneapolis-based discount retailer has on the Hawaiian Islands. Pacific Business News reports the 136,500-square-foot store will be the anchor of a new shopping center in Central Maui and could open in 2014.
