Dakota Plains hires new chief executive officer


Wayzata, Minn.-based Dakota Plains Holdings Inc., which ships North Dakota's crude oil to refineries via rail, has appointed Craig McKenzie as chairman and CEO, according to a news release.

He replaces Gabriel Claypool who will stay with the company as president and chief operating officer.

McKenzie has more than 27 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry. Most recently he served as CEO of Houston, Texas-based ZaZa Energy.

The news release also said Dakota Plains plans to expand its operations in New Town, N.D.
