Danny Heinrich will be in court Tuesday afternoon.

The 52-year-old, who last fall was tabbed as a "person of interest" in the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling, will have a hearing at 1 p.m. at the federal courthouse in Minneapolis, in front of Judge John Tunheim, a courtroom deputy told BringMeTheNews this morning.

The hearing comes three days after officials in Stearns County confirmed remains discovered in Paynesville late last week are those of Jacob. He was 11 years old when he was taken at gunpoint by a masked man in his hometown of St. Joseph.

What happened to the boy remained a mystery for more than two decades. Last fall, Heinrich was arrested in connection with a child porn investigation, and officials at the time called him a "person of interest" in Wetterling's disappearance.

There were a few motions in the child porn case that included a deadline of Sept. 6. But WCCO and KSTP both reported Heinrich was involved last week in pointing officials toward Wetterling's remains.

We'll update this story after the court hearings today.

On Monday, Patty Wetterling in a statement said the family is "deeply grieving" and working to come together.

“Everyone wants to know what they can do to help us,” Patty Wetterling’s statement continued. She then lists things people can do to "bring me comfort today," including saying a prayer, lighting a candle, bringing joy to others, and playing with your children.

People all over Minnesota – and the country – have been sharing their support for the Wetterlings on social media using the hashtag #JacobsHope and by leaving their porch lights on for Jacob.
