Police officers in Montevideo responded when they spotted a man with a warrant biking down residential streets – and it led to a brief car-bike chase.

The department posted about the pursuit on Facebook, saying when an officer yelled for him to pull over, the man continued on the bike.

"We rarely get into pursuits and a bicycle pursuit is even more rare!" the post said.

The 32-year-old, had a warrant for failure to appear in court for a probation violation, a Montevideo Police Department representative told Bring Me The News.

He was cited for fleeing a police officer on foot.
