Debate rages after deputy shoots family dog
The 7-year-old pit bull was shot earlier this month by a St. Louis County Sheriff’s deputy who had come to serve legal papers at the home of Jason Jacobs and Angie Jarvis. The Sheriff's office says that the deputy shot the dog in self-defense and has declined to apologize. The family contends that "Rugar" was not the type of the dog to attack. The debate has exploded onto social media, where information -- and misinformation -- about the case abound.
