Deer poached in pen at Schell's brewery

Staff members at August Schell Brewing Company in New Ulm found one of their whitetail bucks slain Friday inside its enclosure.

According to the brewery's Facebook page, an active investigation is underway to find the "cowardly, heartless bastard" responsible.

The whitetail deer is a staple of the Schell's brand. An image can be found on every beer bottle and various deer monuments are littered around brewery grounds. Schell's also brews a lager called "Deer Brand."

The deer park is located adjacent to the brewery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Turn-In-Poachers (TIP) at 1-800-652-9093 or New Ulm Police Department at 507-233-6750. A reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of this "creep," the Facebook post states.
