If you're catching a Delta flight from Minneapolis-St Paul anytime in the next five weeks, you might want to wait a while to get your bags.
Delta has announced a "Bags on Time" offer, which will run between now and March 31, guaranteeing that checked bags will arrive at the carousel within 20 minutes after any domestic flight arrives.
If your bags don't arrive within 20 minutes, then Delta will give you a bonus 2,500 SkyMiles – though you'll only get the reward if you're a SkyMiles member.
Naturally, there is a catch (or some catches), the Pioneer Press points out.
- The guarantee is only made when final leg of a journey is operated by Delta.
- Oversized or overweight bags aren't eligible.
- Lost, mishandled and damaged bags are excluded.
- And, of course, the 20-minute time is measured by Delta, not by passengers.
(You can view all of that fine print here.)
USA Today reports the trial period is also open to Delta Connection flights, and that it will use the information from the trial to determine whether this should become implemented permanently.
Anyone who wants to report that their bags didn't arrive in 20 minutes can make a claim here.
