The video images showing the moments after Officer Jeronimo Yanez shot Philando Castile will live long in the memories of many Minnesotans, and an artist is making sure visitors to New York City won't be forgetting them either.

LA artist Henry Taylor's piece: "The Times They Aint a Changing, Fast Enough!" was part of the Whitney Biennial at the Whitney Museum in the Big Apple, and though the American art exhibition recently ended, Taylor's piece remains on show for another month.

His painting shows the aftermath of the bullets striking Yanez, as Castile died in his car seat – a scene that his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, captured on camera, streaming through Facebook Live.

The Star Tribune reports that the piece will stay on display in the museum through July 16, with the newspaper noting the artist eschewed the depiction of blood, instead opting for "certain mysterious drops of paint," and neither Reynolds nor her 4-year-old daughter, who was in the back seat, were included.

Speaking to Cultured when the biennial was about to start, Taylor was asked about his decision to focus on the Castile incident, and his reaction to the killing.

"It was like, ‘Damn, another brother?'" he said, adding that while it isn't his intention to go about cataloging every police shooting of a black citizen, saying: "Every once in a while, I can't help but react or respond sometimes."

"But then you just play the video and it’s like, ‘Wow. Wow. Wow.’" he added.

Yanez, a former St. Anthony police officer, was found not guilty of manslaughter and two firearms charges in the death of Castile by a jury last week, a decision that prompted protests in the Twin Cities.
