DNR: Most ice houses must be removed by Monday

It's another sign that spring weather is bound to return soon. The Department of Natural Resources says anglers in central and southern Minnesota must remove their ice structures from lakes by midnight on Monday, March 4, the Pioneer Press reports.

The deadline is midnight on Monday, March 18 for the northern third of the state -- which is roughly waters north of Moorhead and Duluth.

If shelters are not removed by the deadline, KARE 11 says owners will be prosecuted and the structure will be confiscated or destroyed by conservation officers.
