Investigators are hoping the public can help identify a man suspected of robbing a bank while wearing a neon, reflective vest.

The man walked into a TCF Bank branch inside the Cub Foods store on White Bear Avenue in Maplewood on Aug. 15, handed the teller a note and fled with an unspecified amount of cash, Maplewood police said in a news release.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 30-to-40-year-old black man, who is between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, and weighs 160-180 pounds.

Police say he may have fled the area in a tan or gold Chrysler minivan with unknown license plates.

Surveillance video shows the suspect was wearing a high visibility traffic vest at the time of the robbery. Police say they have recovered the vest.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Maplewood Police Department at 651‐249‐2600, or submit an anonymous tip by texting Maplewood and the tip to 847411.
