Over 50 new restaurants opened or are coming soon in the Twin Cities. The Heavy Table provides a list and the latest metro restaurant buzz.

Too many to choose from? "The Tap" offers some suggestions like the Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub in Minneapolis if you like fresh beer with your favorite smoked meat. Little Tijuana is dishing up Ameri-Mexican dishes until 2 a.m. Or try African cuisine at Tawakal Restaurant in Burnsville on Sept. 21, opening day, for a free lunch from noon to 3pm.

Murray's Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge in downtown reopened last week after closing for a five-week renovation. The 66-year-old restaurant includes a new bar and lounge area.
