A 35-year-old Minneapolis man is now charged over a crash with a pedal pub that injured a dozen people in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office announced Mershon Leroy Corbett is charged with six counts of criminal vehicular operation for the crash on the Hennepin Avenue Bridge late Wednesday.

According to the charges, witnesses said they saw Corbett's vehicle rear end the pedal pub without braking, as it traveled south on the bridge.

A preliminary breath test showed Corbett measured a blood alcohol concentration of 0.21 at the scene, the charges say – more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

The crash knocked the Pedal Pub onto its side, trapping passengers, police tweeted. Passersby stopped to help lift the pub off the riders.

The 12 passengers were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with injuries; police said three people had “significant” injuries.

Among the most serious: a man with broken ribs and a bruised lung; another with a head injury and internal bleeding; a third with a broken clavicle and broken bones in his back; and a woman with a head injury, the complaint says.

The driver of the Pedal Pub was not hurt, KSTP notes.
