Driver plows into St. Louis Park restaurant, sending 2 to hospital

Author:

Two people are injured after a car went careening into St. Louis Park's Yum! Kitchen and Bakery on Wednesday afternoon.

The vehicle, a red four-door Lexus sedan, ended up "completely inside" the eatery in a chaos of shattered glass and wrecked equipment and furniture, the Star Tribune reports.

The paper says the two wounded were sent to the hospital for observation.

WCCO described their injuries as non-life threatening, but no further details are available.

According to a Twitter update from FOX 9, crews were working on removing the car from the restaurant around 4 p.m.

The online menu at the Yum! website indicates the restaurant is "not currently accepting take out orders." The eatery also posted a message on social media for those who were at the scene of the accident:

The crash is still under investigation.
