Drop in mortgage delinquencies another sign of housing recovery


A new report shows that mortgage delinquencies dropped in every state and the District of Columbia compared to a year ago. According to a Stateline report appearing in the Pioneer Press Minnesota's 60 day mortgage loan delinquency rate is 2.2 percent. The national rate is 4.09 percent.

The two states with the highest mortgage delinquency rates in the nation — Florida and Nevada — also had encouraging yearly drops according to the TransUnion consumer credit reporting service.

Florida has the highest mortgage delinquency rate at 9.87 percent, followed by Nevada at 7.74 percent. North Dakota has the lowest mortgage delinquency rate at 1.15 percent, followed by South Dakota with 1.53 percent.
