A youth basketball and little league coach in Duluth is facing four felonies after being accused of engaging in sexual acts with a preteen boy and photographing them.
The Duluth News Tribune reports 47-year-old Peter Jay Olson was a longtime coach for the Salvation Army Rookie Basketball program and Lake Park Little League before a parent launched a complaint against him leading to criminal charges Thursday.
According to court documents, Olson admitted to investigators that he sexually assaulted the boy twice between 2010 and 2011 at both the boy's home and a Salvation Army office where Olson worked.
The former coach also admitted to taking photos of himself and the boy in sexual positions at his hunting shack, which led authorities to find more than 200 images of suspected child pornography on Olson's computer.
A Salvation Army spokesperson tells the newspaper that Olson was terminated in November after the computer files were located. Olson abruptly resigned from Lake Park Little League earlier this month.
Olson has no prior criminal background.
He's currently in custody a the St. Louis County Jail on $400,000 bail.
