Duluth's Grandma’s at mall to reopen Monday

After six weeks of repairs and flood cleanup, Grandma’s Miller Hill restaurant (not the more famous one on the lakefront) will reopen Monday with a more upscale look. Grandma’s Restaurant Co. had no flood insurance on the eatery. Restaurant officials say that for at least two weeks, it will donate 10 percent of the restaurant’s food sales to a flood-relief fund.

Sabo reopens Friday until next repair phase

Workers installed a retrofitted diaphragm plate on the Sabo pedestrian bridge this week and the bridge reopened Friday morning, at least until more repairs are done to finish the project. Engineers will then plan and schedule repairs to the rest of the bridge’s diaphragm plates later this year.
