Dying former Minn. meteorologist plans return to state

A former 28-year-old Duluth meteorologist who is dying of a bone cancer is making his way back to Duluth to live out his last days at a Northland hospice, WDIO reports.

Former Fox 21 meteorologist Chris Snider had left Minnesota to do missionary work in Mississippi in 2011, and it was there that he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, WDIO says. He is in a hospital in Mississippi but is due back in Floodwood on Tuesday, the station reports.

A post on the Support Chris Snider Facebook page says he was hungry for waffles on Monday, which generated a number of likes from people following his story.

His family expressed thanks to well-wishers for their support, Fox 21 reported earlier this month in a story that noted Snider's cancer had spread beyond control. He had joined the station in 2008, Fox 21 reported.
