Two separate police chases ended with a crash early Saturday morning.
A 26-year-old man led police on a half hour car chase through multiple metro cities, before a police maneuver caused him to crash and ended the chase, KSTP reports.
FOX 9 says the chase started in Maple Grove around 3 a.m. Saturday, sped through St. Paul, then turned around and ended in Golden Valley about half an hour after it began.
According to KSTP, authorities suspected the man was driving while impaired, on Hemlock Lane near Interstate 94 in Maple Grove. He refused to pull over his car when approached by authorities – leading to a pursuit that included seven different law enforcement agencies.
The driver was evaluated at the hospital. No charges have been filed at this point.
A similar situation happened in St. Anthony Saturday morning. WCCO reports a man suspected of stealing a vehicle sped away when police tried to pull him over. That chase ended when the driver crashed into a home on Lake Johanna Boulevard in Arden Hills. Nobody was hurt the station says, and the suspect was arrested.
