Eden Prairie woman dies after her minivan catches fire

The incident closed eastbound Highway 5 for several hours.

A woman from Eden Prairie has died after her minivan caught fire on Highway 5 on Wednesday.

The woman, identified by the State Patrol as 66-year-old Susan Clark, was found on fire outside her blazing Chrysler Town and Country near Mitchell Road at 12:40 p.m.

She died as a result of her injuries after being taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The incident caused eastbound Hwy. 5 to be shut down for several hours on Wednesday afternoon, reopening around 5:30 p.m.

The blaze is being investigated by the Eden Prairie Fire Department.
