Edina High School athletic director steps down amid probe

Under investigation by the school district, Edina High School athletic director and assistant principal John Soma resigned Monday. He said it was for personal reasons. He says it was for personal reasons. The district says they were were looking into allegations "that had nothing to do with his employment at Edina Public Schools," a spokeswoman said. But more details about the allegations have not yet surfaced.

School district officials said Principal Bruce Locklear will now lead the transition to new leadership in the athletic department, WCCO reports.

His bio says Soma is a Woodbury High graduate and a former teacher there.
