Elderly man dies after being pulled from Courage Center pool
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says an 88-year-old man died Thursday after being pulled from an indoor pool at a rehabilitation facility in Golden Valley.
The Pioneer Press reports the sheriff's office was called to the Courage Center in Golden Valley around 4 p.m. and found the man, whose identity has not been released, unresponsive in the pool.
He was transported to North Memorial Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The newspaper says the Courage Center, recently renamed Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, is part of Allina Health and is equipped with pools and fitness centers for those with disabilities.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to release the man's name and cause of death, the Star Tribune said.
