You wake up, brush your teeth, grab a cup of coffee, get ready for work and watch an elephant wandering through your neighborhood.
Wait, what was that?
That was the sight greeting residents of the tiny city of Baraboo, Wisconsin, on Friday morning when the curious pachyderm got loose from the nearby Circus World museum.
Channel 3000 reports the elephant, called Kelly, was freed by her partner, Isla, who used her truck to loosen her restraint.
She then went on a journey, navigating the shallow Baraboo River and wandering into a nearby backyard, where she unlatched a back gate and ate some marigolds.
Pictures of her adventure were shared on Facebook by Jaime Lynn, who uploaded images with the caption: "Yep......this is what happens in my neighborhood at 5 a.m."
Her journey was delightful albeit short lived, with her trainer catching up with her to guide her back home.
Still, it's an experience she'll never forget.
