It's a dark Wednesday in Bristol, Connecticut, with ESPN announcing a big round of layoffs that include some of its most recognizable talents.

The biggest names fired so far are long time NFL reporter Ed Werder, MLB reporter Jayson Stark and NFL analyst Trent Dilfer.

In a statement to all ESPN employees, ESPN President John Skipper said the layoffs are focused primarily on positions of talent, along with a "limited number of other positions."

More recognizable names will undoubtedly confirm that they've been fired, with as many as 100 people getting laid off in all, according to Sports Illustrated's Richard Dietsch.

We'll update the names you know as the day progresses.
