Estately says Little Canada is Minnesota's oddest town name – it's not

No, Estately, "Little Canada" is not the oddest town name in Minnesota.

Sure, Americans are often derisory about their neighbors to the north, but to suggest that calling a city in a border state Little Canada is "oddly-named" – as Estately did in a blog released last week – is stretching it somewhat.

What makes it worse is that it was up against some far worthier entrants, including the headline-writer's dream that is Climax, not to mention Embarrass, Nimrod, Winner, Ball Club and Clam Falls.

Take a look at Estately's map at the top of the page, in which the website picked out the weirdest town names in every state, and you can see the ones for most other states are far more interesting than Minnesota's (we're big fans of Satan's Kingdom, Massachusetts, where we assume Bill Belichick currently resides).

Above is a full list of the "odd" Minnesota town names Estately mentioned (some of which aren't even in Minnesota) and if you want a bit more information on each of them, the Star Tribune obliges here.
