Joe Mixon punched a woman in the face. But he rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 22 touchdowns while averaging nearly seven yards a carry in two years at Oklahoma.

This is the dilemma Mixon has created for running back hungry NFL teams, one of which could be the Vikings.

Vegas insiders have set the over/under for Mixon's draft position at 46.5. That's right before the Vikings go on-the-clock with pick 48. According to Darren Wolfson, the Vikings are not among the six teams USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports have already removed Mixon from their draft board.

Yahoo Sports believes the Vikings are one of the six teams most likely to take a chance on Mixon. The others:

  • Bengals with pick 41
  • Eagles with pick 43
  • Colts with pick 46
  • Buccaneers with pick 50
  • Packers with pick 61

The MMQB's Peter King has it narrowed to four teams: Cincinnati, Minnesota, Green Bay and Jacksonville.

On the field, Mixon is ultra-talented and might be the best running back in the draft. His game last season against Texas Tech is a good indicator of what he's capable of as a runner and receiver. Make sure you check out his insane 67-yard touchdown run at the 3:55 mark.

Settlement with the woman he assualted

Mixon was suspended for the entire 2014 season after his vicious punch knocked a female student to the floor, leaving her bloodied and woozy. Just one week ago Mixon and the woman he punched reached a civil settlement and both say they're moving on from the incident.

"Joe and I were able to meet privately, without any attorneys, and talk about our experience since that night," Amelia Molitor said in a statement. "I am encouraged that we will both be able to move forward from here with our lives. From our private discussions I am satisfied that we are going to put this behind us and work towards helping others who may have themselves in similar circumstances. I greatly appreciate his apology and I think the feelings he expressed were sincere. We both could have handled things differently. I believe if we had a chance to go back to that moment in time, the situation would not have ended the way it did."

Vikings connections?

Mixon's connections to the Vikings are limited, but general manager Rick Spielman and head coach Mike Zimmer spent time with him at his pro day. He's also connected through Adrian Peterson, who was a star at Oklahoma a decade ago.

Earlier this month, Mixon retweeted this tweet from Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
