Have an extra dog house? This MN police chief could use it

The police chief is housing dogs found after hours.

A Minnesota police chief who has been giving stray dogs found in his neighborhood a temporary place to stay needs some help to care for them properly.

The City of Minneota doesn't have a dog pound, instead the Minneota Veterinary Clinic takes in any dogs. But if a dog is found after hours or on weekends, there's no place to bring the pooch, the city's Facebook page says.

Step forward Minneota Police Chief Bill Bolt, who is using his late dog's kennel (his dog had to be put down due to health reasons) to give stray and found dogs a temporary shelter.

But he says he could use a dog house to go in the 7-foot by 12-foot kennel, if anyone has one to donate.

And, if you find a stray dog after hours or on the weekend, you can report it to Lyon County Dispatch at 507-537-7666, then they'll notify Chief Bolt.
