Officer Schneider was shot during a domestic dispute two weeks ago. The 32-year-old remained in critical condition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for 11 days before he died of his injuries Friday.

A medical examiner at the Mayo Clinic confirmed the identity of the man found dead after Monday's all-day standoff with police at a Lake City home. Alan Sylte's death was determined to be a suicide. Police say Sylte also shot Lake City police officer Shawn Schneider, who remains in critical condition.
