She placed the 400 acres of picturesque bluffland near Fountain City into the Mississippi Valley Conservancy. The agency officials say its among the most important easements in their history.

Twin Cities awarded 25 preservation grants

The Basilica of St. Mary is just one of the 25 metro sites receiving preservation grants from Partners in Preservation. The organization funds restoration of historical sites throughout the nation and awarded the Minneapolis cathedral over $100,000.

Minnesota lawmakers have rare opportunity to preserve piece of land
