The owners of Fargo Beer Co., makers of Wood Chipper Indian Pale Ale and Stone’s Throw Scottish Ale, are in the process of acquiring a place to brew beer in Fargo, the Forum reports. Right now, Fargo Beer is brewed in Wisconsin at Sand Creek Brewery. According to the newspaper, city officials are working on a brewery license ordinance, but it might be early next year before it's finalized.
A new state law and a new city ordinance allows the brewery to sell their tap beer right on site. Fulton Brewing started in a south Minneapolis garage and has since moved its full-scale brewery to the North Loop near Target Field. KARE 11 reports the Harriet Brewing Company will also open a taproom this spring.
Summit Brewing, August Schell Brewing and Cold Spring Brewing are among the top 50, according to the Brewers Association. St. Paul-based Summit was also ranked as one of the nation's largest craft brewers.
