Sanford Medical Center plans a new hospital in 2016 but could not wait that long to expand its emergency room. The emergency room was built to accommodate 25,000 patients a year but served 57,000 last year. Meanwhile, Essentia Health says it's bursting at the seams and an ER expansion is in the works.

Beer maker seeks brewery site in Fargo

Right now, Fargo Beer is brewed in Wisconsin at Sand Creek Brewery. According to the newspaper, city officials are working on a brewery license ordinance, but it might be early next year before it's finalized.

St. Cloud Hospital is now using an innovative system that grinds up and dehydrates its food waste, USA Today reports. A half-eaten blueberry pancake pushed aside by a patient 12 hours earlier ends up as a dirt-like substance mixed into plants on the hospital grounds.
